Roles & Responsibility
- Manages the production planning functions including development, maintenance and execution of the master production schedule and maximizing plant resources to meeting demand
- Organizes and coordinates various sections of manufacturing
- Follows up performance against estimates
- Manages effective and service-oriented planning functions to ensure that correct procedures are established and adhered to achieving the maximum return possible on customer orders while continually improving responsiveness, reliability, and service (may coordinate inside sales activities with customer service staff)
- Manages the purchasing and material planning functions in the planning and procurement of raw materials, equipment, tooling, purchased parts, supplies and services as required to execute the master schedule – Optimizes all purchases as major way to reduce costs
- Directs activities of inventory control
- Instrumental in continuous improvement activities through research, benchmarking and identification of improved methods or tools to increase efficiency
- May analyses department budget to identify needs and or reductions and may allocate operating budget funds
- May audit inventory transactions and data entry of daily cycle counts
- Reviews and analyses reports, records and directives and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress and problems encountered.
- May supervise the maintenance of purchase order/invoices/receiving records system and may prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures
- Provides classification to employees on issues pertaining to department processes, interpretation of product specifications, technical drawings and purchase orders
- May authorize retention of data and preparation of documents for use during governmental or customer inquiries.
- Performs tasks where the ability to identify, define and make recommendations for quality control issues may be required
- May monitor, review and approve employee time records in a timely manner to meet established deadlines
- Conducts interviewing process and makes recommendations on appropriate candidate to fill vacancy
- Prepares and administers on time delivery of employee performance review by effectively communicating work performance standards and setting realistic goals
- Enforces attendance and work rules uniformly and recommends when counselling or discipline is required – Assists and/or performs in any and all areas as assigned.
Job requirements
- Education: Bachelor degree in related field or 3 years work experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: Functional/technical knowledge, skills and abilities
- Performs tasks requiring advance proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook
- Must be able to work with diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
- Good communication in English
